UNDEF-logo-white-frame editedACODEV is implementing a project: Civic Knowledge 2 Action: Strengthening Youth Involvement in Democratization (SYID) in Uganda, with support from UNDEF. The project is developing youth leadership capacity and enhancing their participation in decision-making such as advocating for youth priorities in the local government development plans in Kasese, Wakiso an Mukono districts of Western and Central Uganda. The project is also training 330 youth leaders from 30 youth councils who in-turn train their 900 fellow lower level youth council leaders. The project is also reaching out to 2400 youth through 12 motivational speaker events at universities and Secondary schools and at least 1500 youth through small grants awareness events. Finally, the project will also help to increase the voices of the youth through dialogues with local governments and visits to the Parliament.

The project implementation and funding will take 24 months all with support from The United Nations Democracy Fund (UNDEF).
