Africa Center for Leadership (ACLED) an independent Leadership institution initiated under the wings of Action for Community Development ACODEV whose role is building a sustainable Leadership & Governance development skills across a spectrum of leaders from both Private and public entities is proud of its take-off processes by actively engaging the Board of Directors from a number of Civil Society Organizations with Governance knowledge and skills. A training which took a full day at the ACLED, attracted more than 25 leaders of CSOs and representatives from Segal Family Foundation being part of team to see this happen.
The main Goal of the Governance training was “To create clear understanding of the benefits of good governance in organizational growth and maturity and support Partners build functional governance systems“
During the training, Board members actively participated in processes with respect to the following aspects such as:
- Concept and practices of governance in not-for-profit organizations
- BOD Selection and composition
- Board Performance and development
- Board Motivation
- Distinction and relationships between Board & management for effective organizations
